Begrad’s new medium-term plan anticipates growth already in 2011
The Chairman of the Board and Managing Director Franc Panjan says that Begrad is carrying over a large portion of its business deals into 2011. Last year, ten percent less than anticipated were reached.
»In 2010, the Begrad business system generated a turnover in the amount of approximately 60 million EUR, of which 25 percent was generated by the subsidiary company AB gradnja in Croatia. As early as the second half of 2008, we significantly reduced the stock of the completed production and the construction for the market. Thus, we had very little unsold apartments and business premises at the beginning of 2009. Despite the difficult conditions in our business, in the second half of last year we were on the same level of monthly turnover as in more favorable economic times. One must look for new opportunities. We place much emphasis on new markets. In Ljubljana, we made deals for over 30 million EUR. We are planning new development projects which we intend to first present to our supervisory body. It is very important that we have been present on the market for a long time, so that we were able to grow our roots there. Only such an approach is one of the ways leading to success; therefore, I also believe that we will be able to achieve growth in accordance with the new medium-term plan.«
